High School Football Season Has Begun!

Friday, August 20th was MMHS's first football game of the 2010-11 season. They played Stansbury. It was a heartbreaking loss--7 to 6. Maple Mountain scored first, but didn't make the extra point.

The Elleves performed a hip hop routine from BDT Camp. They looked great! It is always fun to perform at football games.

Team huddle/pep talk before the performance.
Striking a "hip hop" pose.
Our next home game is on September 10th--pretty sure I will still be around for that one. The next home one is on September 24th--the day before my due date. Not sure about that one--only time will tell!

Annie's Birthday Dinner

August 10th was my sister Annie's birthday. My mom, sisters, and I all met to go out to dinner to celebrate. We ate at Texas Roadhouse in American Fork. I love that restaurant! They have the best rolls that they bring to your table--they are hot, soft, and delicious!

Here we all are--Emilee, Paula, Annie on the left. Then me, my mom, and Amy on the right.
It was a fun night--great food and lots of conversation. We kept talking for a long time after we had all finished eating. Then we walk out the door and keep talking. Walk over to our cars and keep talking. What can I say--we like to talk when we all get together.
I always look forward to our birthday dinner outings. The next one will probably be in October for Emilee and Paula's birthdays. I will have a baby then! How weird is that going to be? I hope I will be able to go. Maybe I will have to get a sitter--again, how weird is that? Oh well, I'm getting excited/nervous just thinking about it.

Surprise Baby Shower from Marci & Elleves

On Wednesday, August 11, 2010, I woke up bright and early to get ready for drill team practice. It was not a particularly great morning--I couldn't get up, then I threw up, and so it was going to be a "hat" day, which means, I wasn't going to do anything with my hair except wear a hat. I also thought, "I don't think I will be warming up with the team today." I just didn't feel that good.

Well, I ate some cereal before I left and that made me feel a little better. As I pulled up to the school, there was only one car in the parking lot, and it was a faculty member--because they were in a faculty stall. I thought to myself, "that's weird--no one is here yet?" Usually there is at least one of the girls there waiting. I just figured everyone was running a little late--or maybe my watch was faster than I thought!

I walked into the school, opening the main doors, and headed to the dance studio. It looked like the window in the door of the dance studio was covered. I thought, "what are the custodians doing now?" Thinking that they had covered the window for some reason. I opened the door and turned on the lights. There was my team and they yelled, "Surprise!" I was surprised!
The studio was all decorated and there was tables set up with food, gifts, and a quilt all set up to be tied. How cute! Here's some pictures that Marci took of the event:

Kaitlynn taking a peek to see if I was coming.

Me, just after opening the door.

All the girls waiting by the gift table.
Me--as I walk in. Don't I look so lovely!
Some of the girls tying the quilt.

Kim Blood, one of the moms who put the quilt together, Marci's daughter Baylee, and Kathy Williams, Marci's mom.
More girls tying the cute quilt.

Getting food--one of the first things we did--eat!
Me, eating some yummy fruit and a home made cinnamon roll.
Marci arranged and planned out some fun games. Here is Edynn, she correctly guessed how many skittles were in the baby bottles.
Then the girls had to cut off a piece of yarn that would be the distance around my belly.
Kourtney, comparing her string to mine.
The next game, Marci had them drink white grape juice from baby bottles to see who was the fastest. I didn't participate in this game--thought I might throw up!
They had fun trying to get the juice out of the bottles!
Kaitlynn Blood ended up being the winner!
We were then tested on our knowledge of nursery rhymes. We had to fill in the missing words from nursery rhymes.
Then we did a word scramble. I was impressed that there were some "updated" words on the list like, bumbo and boppy. Most of the girls didn't know what they were. We totaled up our scores from the nursery rhymes and the word scramble. I ended up winning!
Playing Bingo while I opened up gifts. There was a number on the bottom of each gift that I called out and then they marked their Bingo card if they had that number.
Opening gifts.

This picture is kinda dark, but I'm holding the gift that Kathy, Marci's mom gave me. It was a cute clear "paint can" that said "Can O'Boy on the outside and then was filled with cute baby items. There was a poem on the top of the lid. Kathy is very creative--it was so cute!
I got lots of cute clothes for the boy!

This gift is from Marci. She too, is very creative. It looked like flowers in a flower pot.
The base was a quilt all rolled up and then in the "flowers" were onesies all rolled up and tucked inside the clear cups. She also had made a bib to match the quilt and a tie!
Here is the quilt--so cute!
I'm so lucky to have such an awesome assistant and a fun and giving drill team! I felt so loved that day! Marci had went to a lot of work and the officers had met the night before to decorate.
One of the things that each girl included with their gift was a children's book and then they wrote a note inside the book to me. It was so fun to read all of their messages. I guess there was a poem on the invitation that Marci made and gave to the girls that instructed them to include a book with their gift.
Marci also made some cute favors for everyone to take. They were "sippy" cups filled with candy. There was also a poem that was called "Words of Advice from Baby Brenchley". It was cute. One of the candy bars inside the cup was a small Baby Ruth candy bar and Marci had put a label on them that looked just like the original that said, "Baby Brenchley". So cute! She really put a lot of extra effort into the shower. I'm so thankful for all that she and the team did for the shower. Like I said after the shower my sisters and mom gave me, I'm so lucky!
Some of the girls asked me, "Are you mad that we aren't practicing this morning?" I said, "Of course not, how could I be mad at something like this."

Happy Anniversary!

It was our 5th Wedding Anniversary on August 6. Hard to believe that we have been married for 5 years! Time has flown by.

We usually go on a little trip for our anniversary--but things were a little different this year! Our plan had always been to go to Hawaii for our 5th Anniversary--but because of me being pregnant, that plan has been put on hold!

We couldn't really fly anywhere since I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and I didn't really feel like a road trip. So, we thought about going down to St. George and going to a play a Tuachan--but then I thought about the heat--and that changed our minds quick!

So, we just went up and stayed at the Anniversary Inn. It was nice to just get away from everything. We had a great time.

The rest of the weekend we just worked on cleaning out closets and getting the nursery ready. We still have work to do, but we are getting close!

It wasn't the most exciting anniversary, but oh well, we can go somewhere another year!

Here are some pictures from our wedding day:

Happy Anniversary Scott! I love you and appreciate all that you do for me! You put up with so much, especially with this pregnancy--I haven't been the happiest camper to live with! Thanks for being so kind and patient. I'm looking forward to many more years to come!
